Ruth Blacksell, Associate Director
Ruth studied as an undergraduate in the Department of Typography and Graphic Communication at Reading University, and for a Masters in Aesthetics and Art Theory at Middlesex University. She now combines her position as Programme Director of the MA in Book Design at Reading University with intermittent design consultancy for O-SB.

Ruth is in the final year of her PhD research into the use of typography & the document in 1960s/70s Conceptual Art and the specific contribution this can make to typographic discourse. Her PhD has been funded by a Concordat Scholarship from the British Library and Sheffield University.
